Test Cards

It is very important that everyone is on the same page when we run a test in production. That page is the test card! The program managers spend the time to fill-out and write the test instructions to the best of their ability. Please be patient with them as our customers often change the plan before the test is performed. It is always safe to check the notes on the Continuous Improvement List when preparing for the test.

The most important thing from an operation standpoint is that we all understand that the test card is the bible. It always outranks the work order information. That means we do not schedule, pull material, create a documentation packet or pull the tool without reading the test card. If you don’t have the test card, print a new copy. If one does not exist then we don’t schedule, mix material, set-up the tool or pull the documentation package. If the test card does not automatically print with the work order, view the BOM in IQMS and look at the attached documents. If you need help with viewing the attached documents ask Sharon, Shane, Reg, Lindsey or Charlie for help. If you think the test card needs more or better information to help you in your job, please let the program managers know. They want this to work smoothly and would support improvement ideas.

Thank You - Electronic Shift Notes

I would like to take a moment and thank Lindsey, the Leads and the Process Techs for their hard work implementing the electronic shift notes in IQMS.  This process increases the visibility of day-to-day problems and issues impacting production.  We are going to start sending the notes to the program managers, so they are aware of the issues as they arise.  Also, we get the added benefit of keeping the history of the production issues in IQMS.  As the history builds, we will be able to review past issues by filtering for a specific part or tool number in the IQLog module.
